As an event aimed at promoting badminton at grassroots level, combined with three world champion winners participating as honored guests, the event of “Badminton Masters” has captured numerable competitors in Changsha. Within less than one month, over 3,000 candidates have registered to showcase their talents in the event.
Of all the champions in different groups, the most surprising result is the winner in the men’s single, Paul Rohit Kumar (Chinese name: Jiang Shitian), an Indian student and Confucius Scholarship winner studying in CSUST. He has won all the way from pre-trials to the finals, and has earned himself a chance to challenge world champion Bao Chunlai, who together have presented the audience an amazing match.
After the event, Jiang Shitian acknowledged that during his participation in all varieties of sports activities he gained a deeper and more comprehensive understanding about Chinese culture and made more Chinese friends.
